James Patterson and Marshall Karp's NYPD Red 4 (9781478928072, $35.00) enjoys a dual narration by Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder as it tells of a manhunt for a murderer who covets money and blood alike. An elite police task force faces its biggest challenge yet as political tempers flair under an assault which seems unending. All come to life in an audio that's gripping and compelling. Peter Brown's The Wild Robot (9781478938334, $25.00) is read by Kate Atwater and presents an unusual scenario: robot Roz is alone on a remote, wild island with no memory of how she got there. Her struggles to survive occupy more of her attention than her missing memory, until it begins to return and threatens the unusual friendships and home she has just begun to cultivate. Both are vividly-read productions and shine in audio format.
